A Stage 4 and 5 alcohol education
resource book illustrating the dangers
and effects of alcohol.

It’s the centre piece to which teachers
can apply Bloom’s Taxonomy, enabling
students to use logical, critical, creative
and reflective thinking skills. Students
critically analyse ideas, information,
issues, and form opinions based on
reasoned judgements. They use their
imagination and creativity to express
different perspectives, approaches and
ways of considering alternate
possibilities. Students reflect on
their learning and evaluate their
thinking processes.

“It Couldn’t Happen to Me” is a
narrative that investigates the real
consequences of alcohol use and its
impact on others as reflected by the
different perspectives within the
storyline. It depicts the importance of
careful decision making - the difference
could be life or death.

The events in the story have
implications for each of the characters
and act as a stimulus for them to reflect
on the potential harm of alcohol and its
impact on others and the community.
